The modern world is moving very fast and we are also compelled to run with it. Everyone is busy in participating in this rat-race. The fear always hovering over our mind is that a little delay would leave us far behind the time. So to keep pace with it, we are running with our all efforts. But sometimes we feel fatigued and could not any more muster strength to partake in the race of time. We hardly have anytime to stand and stare. We have become indifferent towards the beauty of nature. The twittering of birds, the gushing sound of waterfall, the quivering of meandering rivers, the rainbow, the sun or the moon, no more creates a wave in minds or ripples in our hearts. We feel like that our life has become overwhelming and it is taking a toll on us. Gradually, we find ourself a prey of stress. Now what is this stress? Is not there any way to get rid of this? Yes, of course there are many simple ways by following which a man can find himself free of this stress.
Stress is the emotional and physical strain caused by our response to pressure from the outside world. Common stress reactions include tension, irritability, inability to concentrate, and a variety of physical symptoms that include headache and a fast heartbeat. It’s almost impossible to live without some stress. And most of us wouldn’t want to, because it gives life some spice and excitement. But if stress gets out of control, it may harm your health, your relationships, and your enjoyment of life.
There are many ways one can get rid of this modern age disease. Many medicines or therapies are available in the market to alleviate stress, but unfortunately most of them do not work.
But no, there is no reason to get over stressed, thinking that there is no way to get out of this mire. There are some simple ways that can really de-stress you.
- The first thing to rejuvenate yourself is to take a sound sleep of 6-8 hours everyday. Sleep has great healing powers. It not only relaxes you and your mind, but also regenerates your soul. Whenever you are feeling fatigued or stressed try to get a short nap. While sleeping try to forget all your worries and enjoy the experience of dream land.
- Journals are your best friend you can confide to. Just write your thoughts and feelings in journals and find yourself in light mood.
- A hot bubble but with your favorite fragrance is a great way to relax. After returning back from your work or whenever feeling wretched, take a hot bubble bath. It unwinds both your body and mind.
- Decorate your house with beautiful and fragrant flowers which has a positive effect to your mind.
- Go for a late night driving. Don’t think about any direction, just follow where your eyes lead you. Keep your car’s window open and let the fresh air hit your face and carry all your troubles with it. Relish the pleasure of knowing the unknown.
- Read any good book and forget about your problems. This will help to abate your stress.
- Invite some of your close friends to your place and eat gossip and have lots of fun together. This is a great reliever of your tension.
- Go and watch a funny movie with your partner or friends. Try to live the life of others, though for a few hours. You will find yourself relaxed.
- Walking is always healthy and enjoyable. So walk in the morning or in the evening. It is a good way to unwind yourself.
- Try going to parks and playgrounds and see the kids enjoying their life to the full. Bring out the child within you.
- Meditation is also a very good way to unshackle yourself from this evil. Sit erect, take a deep breath, and form a clear picture in your mind and concentrate on it leaving the whole world behind. This has really a very soothing effect.
- When you are feeling stressed, don’t walk with heavy steps, rather try walking with soft steps. This will give you calm of mind.
These are the few methods by which we can live a stress free life. Believe me, they really work. Try these and find the stress upside down. So don’t give the stress to usurp us, but let us rule it.
